Situada entre o Mar Mediterrâneo e a serra de Collserola, Barcelona tem sido um ponto de encontro de civilizações durante mais de dois mil anos. Fundada como colónia romana, transformada durante a Idade Média numa poderosa capital marítima e reinventada através da arte, da inovação e da arquitetura, a cidade representa hoje um dos destinos culturais mais dinâmicos do mundo.
